We are a group of people who rescue and conserve our UK broadcast history, focusing on the engineering aspects. You can find out more about BECG on the About Us page.
We are creating the Broadcast Engineering Museum at our building in Hemswell Cliff near Lincoln to house our collection of historically significant equipment.
We don’t open all the time (yet), only on certain days which will hopefully become more frequent as the museum progresses. Our current opening dates for 2024 are:
- Late Spring Open Days: Saturday May 25th and Sunday May 26th.
- Heritage Open Days: Saturday September 14th and Sunday September 15th.
We have collected a large amount of equipment over the years and we aim to use this to present broadcast history to the public by various means. Currently this site is focusing on Outside Broadcast Vehicles but we also have other equipment which will be added in due course.
Please see our Projects Page for details of our current activities and our Articles Category for some background reading. If we’re “out and about” you can see where on the Events Page.
We are registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO), number 1189469, please see this news item for more details. We are also a member of the Association of Independent Museums.
